Darcy Schostakowski
About Darcy Schostakowski
Early in his career, Darcy is looking to further entrench himself in an industry which he is both passionate about and is in his pedigree. Hailing from Brisbane's Northside, Darcy has spent most of his life in and around his late Grandfathers, Norm ‘Whopper’ Stephens’ stable at Deagon. Whopper is best known for being the youngest jockey ever to win the Stradbroke Handicap at age 16 aboard 8-1 shot Ballyvista and training Silver Slipper winner Ballock. As an ardent supporter and participant of the thoroughbred industry, Darcy is eager to follow in Whopper's footsteps, just not in the saddle, standing at 6’2. When he’s not at the races or bid spotting at the Magic Millions Sales, you’ll find Darcy on the rugby field. Currently engaged in a Bachelor of Property Economics at the Queensland University of Technology, Darcy hopes to combine his broad skillset in commercial property with his background in the racing industry, to deliver exceptional results for clients of Donovan + Co.
