About David Airey
David Airey commenced his real estate career in 1973 as a salesman at Peet and Co, obtained his agent’s licence in 1976 and auctioneer’s licence in 1977. In 1978 he co-founded the well-known western suburbs agency Airey, Potter & Associates.
David has experience in every facet of property and has handled the listing and sale of residential and commercial properties across Perth. In addition to the management of his agency, which has an extensive portfolio of residential property under management, David enjoys the challenges of listing and selling for a wide range of valued clients built up over 30 years in business.
With a dedicated, loyal staff, active in the local market David offers experience, negotiating skills and value to property transactions.
David was honoured to be elected President of the Real Estate Institute of Australia from 2009 to June 2011. In 2011 was he was elected President of the Real Estate Institute of WA for a 2 year term and re-elected in October 2013 for a second 2 year term, the first time in REIWA’s history for a President to serve such a term of office.
In 2015 David accepted the role of Inaugural Chairman of the WA Division of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He is also active in the community and maintains a strong allegiance to Claremont Football Club, his local WAFL club, David has a strong media profile and is often asked by journalists to provide an expert opinion on the market.
In 2017 David was awarded the Kevin Sullivan Award for Excellence by the Real Estate Institute of WA in recognition of his services to the industry and the Institute in WA. In 2018 David was bestowed with the President’s Award by Real Estate Institute of Australia in Sydney. This award recognises excellence and service to real estate over a long period and is the pinnacle award in Australia.
