About David Servi
With more than 35 years experience in real estate, David Servi has earned the respect of his friends and colleagues by never giving up, by working around any difficulties, and by using his powers of negotiation to pull people together and come out with the best result.
He’s negotiated enviable results for thousands of Sydney-siders selling their homes, he’s helped maximise rentals for many others, and he’s made a huge range of friends, acquaintances and contacts in the field.
As the director and owner of Spencer & Servi, David knows what it takes to make the best of any real estate situation, to underline the best features of any property, to present even the unlikeliest property in the best light, to convince buyers and renters they have come to the right place.
David has a built a team of professionals at Spencer & Servi and they all follow his lead: to go that extra stretch for the customer, every single time. Get work done quickly and perfectly. Get to know the customer, and know what they want even before they know themselves.
Always optimistic about real estate, he enjoys helping people with major decisions. “I like offering the right advice and achieving results that will help my clients with the next stage of their lives”, he says.
When David teamed up with Phil Spencer of Phil Spencer Real Estate in 1985 he was only 22, but he had big dreams. He decided to build the best possible real estate agency. He wanted that personal touch, he wanted friendly and efficient agents – people who respond instantly and comprehensively to clients’ queries, their plans and needs.
He has built a small and intensely loyal team: most have been with Spencer & Servi for several years or more. “They know the clients, and many of the clients have become friends”, he says, adding that the Spencer & Servi staff are a warm and affectionate bunch. “We spend more time with each other than with our families. And we get on well”.
David knows Sydney: he has lived and worked in the inner city for much of his adult life. He has his finger on the pulse of many of Sydney’s different suburbs.
Clients warm to David’s charm and warmth. He is unflappable. He never loses his temper, but works out how to fix any problems quickly. He's easy to talk to and interested in what people have to say. He provides honest and realistic property advice. His persistence and negotiation skills are second to none.
The earliest of early adopters, David always has the very best and newest of technology to hand. The first with an Ipad, an Iphone, an Apple watch; a regular and prolific poster on social media, one of the first real estate agents to see the wild opportunities of the internet, David lives on technology’s front line. Recently he bought a drone, at no small cost, because he could see how well aerial footage could work with real estate marketing.
While willing to try the newest of ideas, David is also well aware of the trust his clients have in him. “I will always work as hard as I possibly can for my clients,” he says. “That’s my responsibility”.
He enjoys negotiating a good sale. “Every time there’s a successful auction, it’s a buzz. There’s satisfaction very time you get a good result for someone. Being appointed to represent someone, to sell their house, is also a great feeling - it’s an honour every time it happens”.
