Born and bred in rural NSW, he has gone about building a career based on the old fashioned values of playing with a straight bat, and doing what he says he’ll do. Educated at Geelong Grammar School, Jock has a particularly strong international and ex-pat network, and he regularly commits to travelling overseas to meet with clients and provide meaningful dialogue regarding their requirements and the properties he represents. That big picture approach means Jock understands that today’s real estate marketing needs to go beyond the usual boundaries. He is a big proponent of creating desirable and agile digital and online campaigns, which allow his properties to be seen and understood by buyers anywhere in the world, any time of the day at a push of a button. He has also has enjoyed considerable success with his commitment to advertising in international publications, from where he has an uncanny ability to flush out interest from unexpected quarters and create the kind of commitment and competition that can drive extraordinary results. Jock’s background has ensured he has a healthy interest in rural properties as well. He is widely sought after for his advice and representation by owners of everything from boutique holdings in Melbourne’s premium lifestyle markets to immense pastoral holdings. Jock is one of the founding directors of Abercrombys and, along with his partners, maintains a strong commitment to keeping the company smaller in size, but bigger in values.
