Matthew Hughes

Meet Matthew Hughes, the newest and most exciting agent in the Bega Valley!

Matthew joined Elders Bega in 2022, as a Salesperson and Marketing Specialist. Matthew drives our social media platforms and marketing activities, while strategically targeting and carefully planning the execution of each property he sells.

Matthew graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Arts in Media, Culture and Communications. He worked in the Media Industry for several years, helping clients such as MasterCard, Barbeques Galore, Fox Sports, Discovery Network and Colliers International with marketing implementations and brand awareness campaigns.

Matthew grew up in Sydney and Gloucester (England) and is now a Bega local. Matthew has strong family ties to Bega and is making an impact with his involvement in the community.

When Matthew isn’t making home ownership dreams come true, he enjoys spending time with his family. He has recently become a father, and both he and his wife, are loving life as parents.

Matthew is very active in the Bega Valley community. He is a member of the Bega Show Committee, looking after social media platforms and all marketing/publicity activities for the show. He also instigated the first Bega BBQ Smokeout Competition, which was introduced to the show in 2023.

He is an avid sports fan and has recently taken on the role as Secretary, Marketing/Publicity Officer, and Entertainment Officer for Tathra Sea Eagles Rugby League Club. He was the innovator of a club partnership with an English Rugby League Club, London Chargers, allowing a player exchange between England and Australia. He constantly continues to grow the club, looking after their social media platforms and advertising, promoting the town of Tathra and the Bega Valley in general.
