Scott volunteers his time and experience and donates to assist the community in his roles the following organisations:

HMRI : as a Board member of the Hunter Medical Research Institute and also Chairman of its Foundation. As a donor to assist research into indigenous health with his wife Gwendalyn.

Salvation Army : as member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board (Newcastle) and donor.

Newcastle Surf Lifesaving Club: as a lifeguard and club member and donor.

Country Kids Health : As a donor via the annual bike ride, for Royal Far West - Children's health, country wide.

Red Cross : a donor for Bush fire relief.
