Description
171 Collins Street presents Melbourne's first Premium Grade, 6 star Green Star office building. Developed by Charter Hall and Cbus Property and designed by Bates Smart, 171 Collins Street is located on the prestigious "Paris-end" of Collins Street and is the new benchmark for business. The 31,000sqm, 17 level office tower rises behind the restored heritage Mayfair Building, with its beautifully detailed facade creating a woven crystalline appearance to Melbourne's city skyline. Elegantly detailed, with premium finishes and cutting edge technology, it represents leadership in environmentally sustainable design. It's main focal point is a spectacular nine-story atrium that contains over 650 individual shards of glass that capture and reflect light to the lobby - an impressive architectural statement worthy of its Collins Street address. BHP Billiton has secured their position as anchor tenant in the office tower to accommodate their new global headquarters. The Mayfair Building accommodates Evans & Partners and the retail space is home to Dolce & Gabbana's first Australian flagship store and Melbourne's new signature restaurant in Flinders Lane, Supernormal, by celebrated chef and restaurateur, Andrew McConnell. Throughout the development of the project, $78,500 was raised for local charity, Youth Projects, which provides life-changing employment, education and training programs for disadvantaged youth in Melbourne's inner city community.
