'Australia's best man cave' hits the market on the Gold Coast

A “man cave” on the Gold Coast, with enough room to house jet skis, sleek cars, a bar and gym equipment, is set to go under the hammer in Southport in July.

Converted from a strata industrial unit on 346 square metres of land, the space at Lot 36/3-15 Jackman Street is owned by a Gold Coast businessman and is on the market through Ray White Broadbeach.

Joint selling agent Adam Grbcic, said the man cave was designed to house the owner’s family’s “toys” because there was not enough space at home.

The 339-square-metre ground floor has an open-plan warehouse space – currently set up as a games room with a built-in bar, as well as kitchen facilities and a bathroom.

Upstairs, across 153 square metres of mezzanine office space, is a kitchenette and floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooking the ground floor.

Other features include an eye-catching graffiti mural, CCTV cameras, an alarm and air-conditioning.

No price could be disclosed for the auction listing.

It has been listed for sale because the family have now found somewhere bigger to live, Mr Grbcic said.

“I would suggest it’s Australia’s best man cave,” he said.

“I’ve never seen anything like it — there are plenty of wannabe versions but here, no expense has been spared.”

It took more than six months to complete the fit-out, which Mr Grbcic said encompassed the perfect balance of work, life and fun.

“I don’t think a lot would know it even exists — it’s a hidden gem,” he said.

“The owner is very private so while there’s always been plenty of entertaining going on, it certainly wasn’t a party place, although it would definitely make a good one.”

While the sale will not include the owner’s many belongings, Mr Grbcic said the property was ideal for someone looking for the ultimate man cave with room for cars, toys and gym equipment.

“It would also be ideal for a small or medium-sized business looking for a fun work environment for their staff. It’s the perfect space for Friday afternoon drinks,” he said.

Interest has been high from many commercial offices keen for a site away from parking congestion, Mr Grbcic said.

The property, which is also being sold by Tony Grbcic, will go to auction on July 24.
