Autobarn drives into former Dick Smith store in Melbourne
Another former Dick Smith store has found a new tenant, months after the demise of the Australian electronics retailer.
Automotive parts and accessories retailer Autobarn has leased the 488-square-metre space at 171 Camberwell Road, Hawthorn East, at the entrance to The Well shopping centre.
The new Autobarn store opened to the public on Saturday.
The site is one of the 393 Dick Smith stores that closed in May 2016 after the company was placed into administration in January. The retailer was founded in 1968.
The Hawthorn East leasing deal was brokered by Samuel Torrance, of GormanKelly.
In May, Priceline moved into the former Dick Smith Adelaide flagship store.
Other former Dick Smith tenancies are for lease in South Yarra, St Marys in South Australia and Centennial Park in WA.
