Hub Australia heads to Brisbane

Co-working operator Hub Australia will open its first facility in Brisbane, taking a 3,900 square metre space at 200 Adelaide Street which is part of the Anzac Square heritage complex.

The new facility will cover three levels at the Anzac Square building, with direct access to Central Station and a rooftop cafe. It is due open later this year. The building is held in a Charter Hall fund.

The Brisbane initiative comes fast on the heels of Hub Australia’s moves in Melbourne, where it has also announced two new sites in quick succession in recent weeks.

Last week as well the co-working operator, the country’s largest privately owned player in the growing sector, opened a new facility in Sydney, occupying 4,800 sq m at 223 Liverpool Street, on the east side of Hyde Park.

“We will be delivering a premium coworking offering unlike any other currently in the Brisbane market and look forward to creating a home for Brisbane’s growing businesses,” said founder Brad Krauskopf.

“The addition of a space in Queensland means we can continue to create a nationally engaged coworking community.”

In Melbourne, Hub Australia will open its third facility there in the historic Georges building in the heart of Collins Street’s ritzy east end.It has previously unveiled plans to open a 2700-square-metre facility on the top three levels at 1 Nicholson Street, in Melbourne’s first skyscraper.

Two years ago the operator opened a 4000 square metre facility at the other end of the city, opposite Southern Cross station on Bourke Street.Hub Australia’s ambitious growth prospects were given a boost recently with backing from the Smorgon family’s Sandbar Investments and investment house Wingate.

Along with its facilities in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, the new Brisbane facility, to be known as Hub Anzac SQuare, will take its national footprint to more than 20,000 sq m.
