Mick Dittman selling stable investment on Gold Coast
Jockey legend Mick Dittman is offloading his purpose-built horse stable complex on the Gold Coast.
The 3001-square-metre parcel at 88 Racecourse Drive, Bundall, is leased to local horse trainer Toby Edmonds.
The facility is part-owned by Dittman, who was listed in the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in 2002. During his 30-year career, the retired jockey, nicknamed “The Enforcer” for his strong riding style, won more than 1700 races including the Melbourne Cup, Caulfield Cup, two Cox Plates and three Golden Slippers.
The property, within the Bundall Equine Precinct, has an annual rental income of $175,000 plus GST and is on a three-year lease with a two-year option.
Ray White Broadbeach selling agent Tony Grbcic, who has the listing with Adam Grbcic, said the complex’s key draw card was the newness of the facility and its proximity to the Gold Coast Turf Club.
“It is the closest facility to the Gold Coast Turf Club; therefore, there has always been a high demand and high occupancy at this complex.”
Adam Grbcic noted that the turf club’s ongoing upgrades and infrastructure showed the growth of the local racing industry, which added to the strength of the equine precinct.
The property has a gross building area of about 1885 square metres over two levels, 60 stable boxes, a covered walker facility with a treadmill, parking for 12 cars and a two-bedroom caretaker’s residence.
The expressions of interest campaign closes on October 6.
