This hotel in Taiwan has the ultimate set-up for gamers
If you were ever thinking of going on holidays but were worried about being away from your favourite online game, fear not there is now a hotel that caters for even the most hard-core gamers.
In Taiwan, the i Hotel makes sure gamers never have to go without, even on vacation.
Each room is equipped with two gaming PCs with i5-7400 processors, 16GB of RAM, GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards and 32-inch monitors which, we are assured, makes for an impressive rig.
They are accompanied by DXRacer gaming chairs.
The lobby area is set up for tournaments, with 12 gaming computers in formation below a speaker system.
Instead of the typical relaxed music that plays in hotel elevators, guests are treated to the Imperial March from Star Wars.
If guests get tired of shooting stuff, they can relax in their rooms watching their 55-inch television.
The hotel is in the Taoyuan district, about an hour’s train ride from Taipei.
Each room costs around $US100 a night ($127). But if you want to pop in just to game, the hotel offers hourly rates, according to Mashable, from $12 an hour during weekends and there is a package deal of $US75 for 15 hours (if you can last that long).
Hotels that appeal to specific tastes are also starting to pop up in Australia.
In June Sydney opened its Capsule Hotel, a futuristic-looking accommodation with 70 pods narrower than a queen-size bed.
Built in the heart of the city, the hotel says its target market is businessmen who may have had too many drinks and want to save on the cab fare home and crash in a pod.
Earlier in the year the world’s first astrology themed hotel opened in Ultimo, also in inner Sydney, that offers guests an experience based on their star sign.
It includes ‘astrolo-tea’ selected to match your zodiac, an astrology library and travel guides on places to eat and drink based on your sign.
