The Acton family purchased "Croydon Station" in May 1988 adding size and scale to the family business. Graeme & Jennie relocated with their children to "Croydon Station", becoming part of the broader Lotus Creek and Clarke Creek Communities. Whilst many places were bought and sold over the years "Croydon Station" remained a corner stone for the growth of Acton Land & Cattle over the following 30 odd years.
"Croydon Station" is located in the renowned Lotus Creek district and is situated 100 kilometres north of Marlborough, 210 kilometres north of Rockhampton and 180 kilometres south of Mackay on the Marlborough Sarina Road.
"Croydon Station" comprises a total of 59,669 hectares with the western side of the highway bounded by the Connors River and Lake Plattaway. Lotus Creek which feeds into the Connors River also intersects the western severance. This western area of the property comprises a good balance of developed scrub with improved pastures introduced enhancing the growing and finishing country being about 27,300 hectares principally scrub country running onto the eastern bank of the Connors River. The area to the east of the Marlborough Sarina Road being approximately 32,369 hectares comprises predominately good forest country with patches of scrub influence.
"Croydon Station" has a substantial homestead complex relative to the size of the property and carrying capacity including the homestead, managers residence, guest accommodation, two houses for employees and the workers quarters. Other infrastructure includes garage/workshop, storeroom, machinery shed, hay shed, stables and numerous other buildings. There are two sets of yards, with the homestead yards being recently updated with a system of lanes to facilitate mustering. The fencing is predominately in good condition with a capital works programme implemented in 2015.
The property is very well watered with numerous natural waters supported by nineteen dams on the western severance with seven dams on the eastern severance. In addition, there are two equipped bores and two permanent natural waterholes equipped with pumps along Lotus Creek being 'Sheep Station Hole' and 'Highway Hole' being either side of the Marlborough Sarina Road. Lotus Creek also provides permanent and semi-permanent holes.
