Located 67km North West of Walgett, Malabar offers extensive grazing opportunities. Currently operating a merino breeding herd of 3200 ewes and 45 young cows the property is a strong mix of open heavy grey soil plains and productive timbered red country with long term owner estimated sheep breeder numbers of 4500.
Under current ownership the property has seen further development of the existing capped bore scheme tank & trough system as well as significant other infrastructure upgrades to fencing and sheds. The upgrades and extensions to the water system has made this a stand out feature.
The main shearing shed has been upgraded to six stand and has bore water connected as well as diesel generator hard wired and lunch room added. The nearby six room quarters are connected to generator and bore water, while further scope to upgrade exists.
The second shearing shed is four stand with mains power available, yards and shearers quarters adjacent.
The property benefits from a 283 hectare cropping licence with strong yields achieved in 2020. 2021 cropping is underway with plans to sow the entire 283 hectares.
