Fast Approval Process!
The new State Significant Development (SSD) approval pathway is now available for housing developments with an estimated development cost (EDC) exceeding $60 million in Greater Sydney and approximately $30 million in regional NSW.
The Housing Development Authority (HDA) is considering expressions of interest for housing projects to be designated as SSD, including any state-led rezoning to facilitate this process.
The HDA will review recommendations from the Department and make its own determinations or suggestions to the Minister.
Determining an EOI
The Department will prepare a determination report on behalf of the HDA following its decision on an EOI for major residential development or state-led rezoning. This report will be made publicly available within 14 days of the HDA's decision.
