'Retford Springs ' is a low maintenance productive grazing property suitable for cattle, sheep and/or goats. Currently being operated as a cattle breeding property.
Located 34kms South Texas, 45kms North Ashford and 103kms North Inverell.
Totaling 1,360*Ha (3,360.5*Ac) of undulating to open country. 728.4*ha (1,800ac*) is open grazing, which has been re-cleared recently including 202.3*ha (500*ac) previously cultivated with 170*ha (420*ac) of improved tropical pastures planted over the past 2 years (Premier Digit, Urichola & Rhodes grass). Approx. 202.3*ha (500*ac) of heavily timber country with the balance lightly timbered country. Soil ranges from soft loam, to granite with a small portion of trap.
Water is a feature on 'Retford Springs' with 29 dams including 6 which are spring feed. Dams have been recently cleaned and capacity of each made at least double. 4 seasonal creeks, Little Sandy Creek, Big Sandy Creek Reedy Creek and Herding yard creek. There are 2 bores, 1x unequipped bore, sunk in 2022, which is 80*m deep and tested at 2,500gal/hr and the other bore is equipped (however not in use). There is an irrigation license for 44ML.
Divided into 24 paddocks. Fencing in fair to good condition with 13kms being renewed over the past 19yrs. All boundary fences are ringlock with 2kms recently being replaced. There are 18 new gateways on the property for easy of moving livestock and machinery including double gateways.
Infrastructure includes 1x large hay/machinery shed, 1x workshop and 2x older wooden storage shed. Steel/wooden cattle yards including crush and loading ramp.
