'Bellerive' is located in one of the best prime locations in our region. 14km South of Geurie in the Ponto district, short distance from Arthurville and Wellington and 43km from the thriving regional centre of Dubbo.
'Bellerive' is renowned for its prime lamb production. Being offered for the first time in 3 generations the Johns family has delivered prime lambs to market for over 65 years.
The property is principally open country enjoying a gentle slope from North to South. Originally timbered by white and yellow box, shade and shelter belts remain.
The soils are predominately soft red loams with a small outcrop of limestone. It is estimated some 95% of 'Bellerive' is arable.
Water is a highlight at 'Bellerive' with the primary water source coming from the Macquarie River easement. A mains powered pump sends water to an elevated 10,000 gallon tank which reticulates to some 9 troughs. There is a trough in each of the main paddocks. The pump and line from the river is via a water scheme with one neighbour. There is also a well located at the northern end of the property. This well is unequipped but has a pump test of 6000 gallon a day.
The property currently runs 1000 breeding ewes turning off top shelf prime lambs. The fattening of the lambs is enhanced by approx. 140ha of established Lucerne pasture with areas of Premier Digit.
The 3 bedroom weatherboard cottage set in attractive gardens offers a comfortable standard of accommodation with central air conditioning. The remaining infrastructure consists of an older 2 stand shearing shed, steel sheep yards, 4 x 40 tonne cone bottom silos, hay shed and 100 tonne grain shed.
'Bellerive' has all the trademarks of a top quality mixed farm. Soft fertile soils, established pastures and safe water under pin the operation.
'Bellerive' is equally suited to cropping and or vealer production and fattening.
